Visionary Stewardship: The Journey of Ms. Jangu Lepcha and Miknaon Farmstay
Miknaon’s endeavour is to showcase the heritage, culture, traditions, food and adventure of the region and its communities.

Ms Jangu Lepcha, the dreamer and owner of Miknaon was born in Pedong to a respected family in the Lepcha tribe. She was named after Dzongu / Jongu, a Lepcha tribe reserve in Sikkim. ‘’Miknaon’’ is a Lepcha language which means ‘’Vision’’. She indeed has a Vision - to transform her love for her community and culture into her passion for taking care of it in a sustainable way including finding platforms to showcase her people.

Her passion has taken her many places, she has been a high altitude Woman tour guide and the first Lepcha lady to initiate Lepcha Community Homestay and Tourism She has developed many Homestays, MIKNAON inn in Lava and Miknaon Framstay are the current ones, which is an accomplishment! She is one of the few who have a ‘woman owned business’ her Mikanaon Farmstay singlehanded !
